About Umlungu
I started Umlungu Design from my kitchen in 2023, as a hobbyist carpenter, quickly outgrown in a matter of weeks as gifts for family and friends turned into orders of tables and other large items started filtering in.
Quickly needing more real estate I found a small workshop in Paarden Eiland where Umlungu started taking shape and developed into what it is today.
I design and hand make all of our products - tailoring to my clients needs. I like to involve my clients as much as possible during the design, manufacturing and finishing stages.
No project is too big or small for Umlungu.

Cabinets had begun to rot, laminates and veneers started to peel off. The floor had faded and de-laminated in places and the tiles were clearly not from this century.
